RETURN ENGAGEMENT: Michael Kors has had a long run with models Carmen Kass and Noah Mills in his ad campaigns and on his runway, and he’s bringing the duo back for fall. After shooting past campaigns on private jets, chauffeured cars and yachts around the globe, the fall campaign was shot in New York City to reflect the urban nature of the season. Mario Testino photographed Kass and Mills entering and leaving a Broadway theater. “Michael is an avid fan of the theater and has been attending Broadway shows since the tender age of five,” said a spokesman, who added the media spend is flat compared to last year. The ads will break in the August issues of American, British, Russian and Italian Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and W.

Farrah Fawcett RIP

American Vogue July 1978 Cover

Photographer: Patrick Demarchelier
Makeup: Way Bandy
Hair: Garren
Fashion: Yves Saint Laurent Haute Couture

Farrah Fawcett's death has touched me deeply. She was an American icon and a real beauty. Her warm smile and positive energy brought me a lot of happiness. Farrah was sick for a long time, and is no longer in pain. She is in a better place, and will be missed.

I can't believe I am crying at work....again. Her struggle with cancer, and passing remind me that life is not to be taken for granted. Live each day as if it is your last. Farrah Fawcett was 62 years old, the same age as my father. My father is a great man, and means the world to me. My heart goes out to Farrah, her father, Ryan O'Neal, her son, and everyone who was lucky enough to be loved by her.

Farrah's friends remember her:

In a statement confirming the tragic news, Ryan O'Neal says: "After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away. Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world."
He reveals Fawcett was awake and aware of her surroundings shortly before her death, telling People.com, "She now belongs to the angels. She's now with her mother and sister and her God. I loved her with all my heart. I will miss her so very, very much. She was in and out of consciousness. I talked to her all through the night. I told her how very much I loved her. She's in a better place now.

Fawcett's Charlie's Angels co-stars Jaclyn Smith, Kate Jackson and the actress who replaced her on the hit show, Cheryl Ladd, were among the first celebrities to remember the star. Smith commented, "She had courage and strength... Now she has peace as she rests with real angels." And Ladd told HollyScoop.com, "I'm terribly sad about Farrah's passing. She was incredibly brave, and God will be welcoming her with open arms."

"I will miss Farrah every day," commented Kate Jackson to PEOPLE. "She was a selfless person who loved her family and friends with all her heart, and what a big heart it was. Farrah showed immense courage and grace throughout her illness and was an inspiration to those around her. When I think of Farrah I will remember her kindness, her cutting dry wit and, of course, her beautiful smile."

Added Jackson, "Today when you think of Farrah remember her smiling, because that is exactly how she wanted to be remembered."

Playboy publisher Hugh Hefner called Fawcett, who died of cancer at age 62 Thursday morning, the "Marilyn Monroe of the 1970s" whose famous poster "defined what one thinks of as the All-American girl."

"Men fell in love with her and women wanted to look like her," says Hefner of his magazine's cover model. "She had a magic that never went away. She became a part of the pop culture.

Griffin O'Neal, son of Ryan, said, "I never looked at her as a 'star,' or a 'Charlie's Angel.' I looked at her always as this wonderful Southern Belle, a lady. I was fascinated by her. I loved her. She was the most gracious, wonderful person. I always wondered why she was around this family. 'Why are you here?' She was such a beautiful person. Especially in the latter days."

He went on to say, "It was incredible watching her battling to help [her son] Redmond. She had the patience of a giant. I'm so worried about my brother. What's he going to do without her? Farrah was part of my family. My heart is broken. I will miss her forever and ever. She was so kind and gracious."

Fawcett's former husband, Lee Majors, says, "She fought a tremendous battle against a terrible disease. She was an angel on earth and now an angel forever."

Hairstylist Jose Eber, who created Fawcett's famous blonde mane, says, "She was blessed with the most amazing hair anybody could have."

"Her hair had its own personality," he says. "In my business, doing hair for so long now, very rarely do you see a person who has hair with such perfection. And it was all natural."

Orange #1-3, by Hannelore Knuts

The word of the week is Orange.

The colour orange occurs between red and yellow in the visible spectrum at a wavelength of about 585 – 620 nm, and has a hue of 30° in HSV colour space. It is numerically halfway between red and yellow in a gamma-compressed RGB colour space The complementary colour of orange is azure, a slightly greenish blue. Orange pigments are largely in the ochre or cadmium families, and absorb mostly blue light. Orange is one of the tertiary colors on the HSV color wheel.

The colour is named after the orange fruit, introduced to Europe via the Sanskrit word nāranja. Before this was introduced to the English-speaking world, the colour was referred to (in Old English) as geoluhread, which translates into Modern English as yellow-red. The first recorded use of orange as a colour name in English was in 1512, in the court of King Henry VIII.

Orange is the contrasting colour of blue and is highly visible against a clear sky. Therefore, shades of orange such as safety orange are often used in high visibility clothing and other safety equipment and objects.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's code orange on its terror threat scale represents a high risk, second highest to severe.

Prisoners incarcerated in many American jails and prisons are made to wear orange jumpsuits so they will be easy to see if they try to escape.

Orange in general represents Hinduism in the flag of Sri Lanka. Hindu swamis traditionally wear orange robes. The significance of orange as the colour for Hindu swamis is commonly thought to be connected to the idea that orange symbolizes fire. Renunciates' fiery ochre robes display outwardly the inner transformation that is happening - the burning of ego, their former selves, and their personal wants. Also, the saffron stripe in the Indian flag signifies courage, sacrifice and the spirit of renunciation. Hindu and Sikh flags atop mandirs and gurdwaras, respectively, are typically a saffron coloured pennant.

A woman named Susan Hogan was born with an extra set of cones that are sensitive in the orange range, as well having the red, green, and blue cones that humans with normal colour vision (i.e. trichromats) possess. She is therefore classified as a tetrachromat, but her extra type of cone is an orange cone instead of the ultraviolet cone possessed by animals such as birds who are tetrachromats in nature. It is estimated that while normal humans can see about 1,000,000 different colours, tetrachromats such as Ms. Hogan can see 100,000,000 different colours. This is because each additional type of cones interacts with the other types of cones in such a way that an addition of a new type of cone means an organism can see 100 times as many colours. (This means that a pentachromat would be able to see 10,000,000,000 (ten billion) different colours.)

We all want the stuff that's found in our wildest dreams

This weekend, while the moon is shining down upon your skin, I hope you find the stuff that is in your wildest dreams & do the things you never do.

"A Love Bizarre" is a hit song from the Sheila E. album Romance 1600. The song is a duet between Sheila and her mentor, Prince. The song clocks in at a remarkably long 12:16, but the single version clocks out at 3:46.

The song, Sheila E.'s last major hit and was released as a single in 1985. The song is Sheila's 2nd biggest hit behind her debut single "The Glamorous Life" the song was performed in the movie Krush Groove which Sheila also had a major supporting role in. The song was a smash hit it reached #1 in Urban radio airplay & Dance/Club play , #2 on the U.S. R&B charts and #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 & Pop radio airplay.

Love Bizarre Lyrics:

The moon up above it shines on upon our skin

Whispering words that scream of outrangeous sin.
We all want the stuff that's found in our wildest dreams

It gets kinda rough in the back of our limousine.

That's what we are, we all want a love bizarre.
That's what we are, we all want a love bizarre.

A strawberry mind, a body that's built for two

A kiss on the spine, we do things we never do.
Swallow the pride and joy of the ivory tower

We'll dance on the roof, make love on a bed of flower.
That's what we are, we all want a love bizarre.

The moon up above, it shines on upon our skin
. . .
That's what we are, we all want a love bizarre.
That's what we are, we all want a love bizarre.....

Krush Groove (1985) - In this scene Run and Russell "discover" Sheila E in the Bronx's Disco Fever, prompting what will become the film's love triangle. DMC and Jam Master Jay appear, Kurtis Blow...

Oh Sheila

"Oh Sheila" is a 1985 single by Ready for the World. The song went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100, the Hot Black Singles and the Hot Dance Club Play charts.

Ready for the World is a R&B / funk / dance band from Flint, Michigan consisting of lead vocalist/keyboardist/occasional rhythm guitarist Melvin Riley with Gordon Strozier (lead guitar), Gregory Potts (keyboards), Willie Triplett (percussion/keyboards), John Eaton (bass guitar),and Gerald Valentine (drums). Their aforementioned self-titled debut was released in 1985 and included perhaps their best-known hit "Oh Sheila," which went to number one on the R&B, Billboard Hot 100, and the Hot Dance Club Play charts that year, becoming the first ever single to hold the number one spot on all three of these charts simultaneously.

"Oh Sheila" is according to legend written about Sheila E.

3 years ago, while waiting for the spring 2007 Marc Jacobs show to start, "Oh Sheila"was played continuously on a loop. The show did not start on time, but this song put me in a real good mood. it makes me want to dance - needless to say, that was neither the right time or place.

Like they always say
What's good for the geese
Is always good for the gander
Oh, Sheila
(Oh, Oh)

Oh, Baby
Love me right
Let me love you till we get it right, Hmm
Can't you let the others be
'Cause with you is where I got to be
Oh, Sugar
Where you been?
Hangin' out with your male friends
(Listen)
Somebody's gonna hurt you
The way you love to keep hurting me
(And we sing)

Oh
Oh, Sheila
Let me love you till the morning comes
Oh
Oh, Sheila
You know I want to be the only one

Oh, Baby
Understand
That I want to be the only man
But it seems as though it's getting too hard
And I think I'll start to have my own fun
Oh, Baby
It's plain to see
That you're qualified to fufill your needs
You think you pulled one over on me
Well, Honey
Baby, just you wait and see
(And we sing)

Oh
Oh, Sheila
Let me love you till the morning comes
Oh
Oh, Sheila
You know I want to be the only one

Uh, Baby
It's 1-2-3
I love you baby, Honestly
Hmm, I want to
Di a di da li a di a di da li

Oh
Oh, Sheila
Uh, uh, uh
Oh, Sheila
Oh
Oh, Sheila
Uh, uh, uh
Oh, Sheila

Oh, Baby
Love me right
Let me love you till we get it right, Hmm
Can't you let the others be
'Cause with you is where I got to be

Oh, Baby
Understand
That I want to be the only man

You think you pulled one over on me
(Well, honey, baby, just you wait and see)
(And we sing)

Oh
Oh, Sheila
Let me love you till the morning comes
Oh
Oh, Sheila
You know I want to be the only one

Oh
Oh, Sheila
Let me love you till the morning comes
Oh
Oh, Sheila
You know I want to be the only one

(Here we go!)
Oh

Just like me "Oh Sheila" motivates and inspires people all over the world to DANCE!

This Is The Night

Last week the DJ at the Visionaire / Calvin Klein Collection party played " Touch Me" by Samantha Fox..

"Touch Me (I Want Your Body)" was the first hit for British singer Samantha Fox. It was released in 1986 from her debut album Touch Me. The was a worldwide hit, hitting #4 in the U.S. (usually a tough market for international acts), #3 in her native UK, and topping the Australian chart.

In elementary school the more developed boys were really into her. Exposing her ass thru a rip in her jeans made her seem sexually available to men back then. Today that look, with her studded leather jacket makes her seem like the kind of woman (who may not be available at all to a man) who has already placed her order for Balmain fall 2009.

I cannot get enough Balmain and I cannot get enough of this song.

Full moon in the city
And the night was young
I was hungry for love
I was hungry for fun

I was hunting you down
And I was the bait
When I saw you there
I didn’t mean to hesitate

This is the night
This is the night
This is the time we’ve got to get it right

(this is the night)
Touch me, touch me
I want to feel your body
Your heart beat next to mine
(this is the night)
Touch me, touch me now

Quick as a flash you disappeared into the night
Did I hurt you boy?
Didn’t I treat you right?
You made me feel so good
Made me feel myself
Now I’m alone & you’re with somebody else

This is the night, yeah
This is the night
This is the time we’ve got to get it right

(this is the night)
Touch me, touch me
I want to feel your body
Your heart beat next to mine
(this is the night)
Touch me, touch me now
Touch me, touch me now
Touch me, touch me now

Hot & cold emotions confusing my brain
I could not decide between pleasure & pain
Like a tramp in the night
I was begging you
To treat my body like you wanted to

Uh....
Uh, it’s begging for you

(this is the night)
Touch me, touch me
I want to feel your body
Your heart beat next to mine
(this is the night)
’cos I want your body all the time

(this is the night)
Touch me, touch me
I want to feel your body
Your heart beat next to mine
(this is the night)
’cos I want your body all the time

The entire shoot was covered live by Showstudio.com:

Our in-house studio space at Bruton Place is being prepped at this very moment for tomorrow's LIVE shoot for Another Magazine with none other than the legendary Carmen Kass! From 12 Noon GMT Tomorrow, SHOWStudio will stream all the action from the set with Kass, Nick Knight and Panos Yiapanis collaborating on this latest editorial for AnOther over two days. This shoot, however, is slightly different than most, promising to show a side of Carmen that has never been seen before. At the hands of Panos, and with the help of greasepaint, wigs, and fashions from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Rodarte, Christopher Kane and Nina Ricci, Kass will transform into a clown - but you can wipe any preconceptions of mournful monochrome Pierrots, Commedia dell'Arte Harlequins or even good old-fashion circus pratfalls from your mind. For this shoot, clowning around takes a decidedly dark, macabre and dare we say downright evil twist. More live and direct from the shoot tomorrow...

With our first outfit in the bag - and daylight fast diminishing -Panos, Hannah, Marian and Sam are putting the final touches to Carmen Kass' second look of our two-day Clown shoot. Despite our project title, Nick Knight's glossy 8x10 polaroids above testify that the shoot's aesthetic is veering far, far away from the accepted and understood realms of circus ring and fairground performance - not that we really expected light and carefree joviality, given Panos' visual references and choice of designer togs. Accordingly, the final looks have more in common with mournful French Pierrots, Stephen King's 'It' and the nightmarish Siats of Ute tribe mythology than the child-pleasing ilk of Bozo, Coco or even Krusty. And with night closing in, it can only get creepier.

With Carmen Kass' face contorted by transparent plastic tape to resemble a Royston Vasey resident and Sam McKnight's teased beehive towering hevenwards, we're off on outfit number two. This time. Kass is an explosion of riotous colour, clad in a draped tunic-dress and bejewelled leggings by Louis Vuitton, velvet shorts by Prada and a beaded top by Gucci. Panos again fashions the trademark final touches himself - in this instance, a bead-encrusted harness and sparkling shoes fit for a Maharaja.

Silent film legend Lon Chaney Sr. once stated 'There is nothing funny about a clown in the moonlight'. We're testing this theory to the max this evening, as Carmen Kass takes to the street in Panos Yiapanis' uncompromising vision of a maniacal masquerade clown. Rest assured, this is no laughing matter! Unfortunately we are unable to take our live stream out onto the fair streets of Mayfair to chart Carmen's progression, but I will be tweeting from the roadside as Nick Knight pushes Carmen to the very brink!

The team are back at our Bruton Place studio ready for another day of shooting for Nick and Panos' clown-themed story for the upcoming issue of AnOther Magazine. Model Carmen Kass already being prepped in hair and make-up, Panos and his team are busy working on items for today's looks, there's a constant flurry of garment bags being delivered via courier and Nick's just arrived so we thought we'd turn the LIVE STREAM on early. Today is a SHOWstudio first: this is Nick's inaugural shoot in our upstairs studio space, and as it's a weekday, we've got a full-house with the rest of the team downstairs attempting to go about their day-to-day duties. As well as a constant live stream trained on the heart of the action, Alex Fury and I will be multi-tasking to the best of abilities, providing regular blogs and regular Twitter updates throughout.

Carmen Kass takes to the stage in Panos Yiapanis' second look of the day: a devoré velvet tunic, cardigan, bloomers and those love-or-hate thigh-high tan waders from the A/W 2009 Prada collection. This high-fashion ensemble is however subverted into something far more unsettling, and thoroughly in keeping with our Clown theme, with the addition of items specially crafted to Panos' exacting specifications. In this instance, hand-beaded leggings and bra-like harness and a sinister 'Hannibal the Cannibal'-style face fetter. And check out Sam McKnight's truly terrifying hairdo!

Here is one of the leitmotifs of the photographer's trade: the polaroid wall, in this case covered in glossy eight-by-ten images of Carmen Kass in this morning's outlandish array of Dolce and Gabbana and Prada pieces mixed in with Panos' inimitable array of customised garments. Nick Knight's images are shaping up to blur the line between figurative and abstract - quite literally in many cases, as the sections of the photographs appears fuzzed and clouded, while other aspects register crystal-clear. The mirror-embroidery detail on one of those Dolce and Gabbana gowns, for example, runs the gamut between abstract polkadot to images so finely-focussed you can see each stitch. Carmen herself, of course, has been somewhat abstracted already - to the right of this image, you can see her behind Panos, complete (and completely unrecognisable) with Hannah Murray's circus whiteface and the chicest of frightwigs by Sam McKnight.

Now Kass is seated, dressed in 2 Miu Miu dresses, overlaid with Panos' bejewelled tutu, Miu Miu stockings and heels.
Check out the neon lip sign Panos and his team have cleverly fashioned for this look
With daylight fading fast in our Bruton Place studio space, what could be a better accessory than a neon 'lip' sign for our model Carmen Kass? Another example of Panos and his team's ingenious handiwork, the specially-devised red glowing lips are currently being used to create fantastical trompe l'oeil effects in front of Nick's lens. Dressed in head-to-toe Miu Miu (two flesh-toned, jewel encrusted dresses, stockings and heels) and a tutu customised by Panos' team, this is our sixth look today. And the team are no way near close to completion - with five (or even six!) looks left to shot and talk of venturing outside, I can safely say that we will be live streaming, blogging and Twittering late into the night.

We're going outside! Nick wants puddles but as it hasn't rained, we're going to make some of our own...
For tonight's next look, Nick's wanted to photograph Carmen in the street in some puddles - as it hasn't rained for the past week, his assistants have had to fake it with buckets of water. Here's a scene you don't see every night on your way home: Carmen Kass dressed in Givenchy and blue crystal shoes, face painted ghostly white, jumping around in puddles, pulling crazy clown poses, in front of photographer Nick Knight and a 11-strong team.

Eagle-eyed viewers will have seen Carmen pop back in for a quick outfit change. Now she's in a sparkling Gucci and back outside!
After our twelve hours of shooting (on top of yesterday's nine hour session) Nick and Panos now have everything they need for their upcoming editorial story destined for the Autumn issue of AnOther Magazine. After shooting Carmen in a plethora of Panos Yiapanis' clown-inspired looks, for most of the day in the studio space of our new Bruton Place HQ, the shoot came to a close outside in our surrounding Mayfair streets just moments ago. Here, a snapshot from the day's penultimate shot: a gracefully elegant Carmen Kass, sporting a sparkling Gucci ensemble.

It's 00:30 and we have the final shot is done!

If you close your eyes, you could just as well imagine me to be vintage Ali MacGraw, circa 1968

Last night Sandra Bernhard turned the mother out.

When she did her tribute to Burt Bacharach, and The Woman I Could Have Been, I almost lost my mind.

Sandra performed these classic songs - her way:

Billy Paul - "Me and Mrs. Jones"

Dusty Springfield & Burt Bacharach - "A House Is Not A Home"

Heart - "These Dreams"

Led Zeppelin - "Whole Lotta Love"

Hole - "Violet"

I wish I was Tina Turner

Sandra Bernhard in Martin Scorcese's "The King of Comedy"

I feel completely impulsive tonight.

Anything could happen.

I have so much to tell you. I don't know where to start.

I want to tell you everything about myself... everything you don't know.

Do you like these glasses?

Crystal. Beautiful.

I bought them just for you.

There's something about them... the simplicity of them.

If you don't like them... if there's a doubt in your mind...

You know, sometimes during the day... I'll do the simplest things.

I'll be taking a bath and I say to myself... "I wonder if Jerry's taking a bath right now?"

And I just hope... that you're not drowning or something.

I get really worried about you...like something terrible is going to happen.

I have these daydreams... like I'm with you at the golf course... driving your cart... just driving around.

Need a putter, Jer, you know? Need an iron?

I don't even know how to play golf.

I played with my parents once...

but, uh, but I love you.

I never told my parents that I love them.

They never told me that they loved me either...which was fine with me.

But I love you.

You want some wine?

No, OK

I'm not in the mood to drink either, though.

I'm in the mood to be alone with you.

Why don't we just clear off the table?

I was thinking... why don't we go upstairs?

But that's so predictable.

Let's just take everything off the table... and do it right here.

That would blow your mind.

It would blow my mind.

I've never done anything like that.

I never even had anybody over for dinner.

Let alone, made love on the table.

I want to do that.

I just want to dance.

I want to, like, put on some Shirelles.

I want to be black.

Wouldn't that be insane?

God,you know who I wish was tonight?

I wish I was Tina Turner... just dancing through the room.

Ooh ooh

Without You, I'm Nothing

Frequently, I tell my friends, family and loved ones "Without You, I'm Nothing".

And I mean it every time.

It is their love and support that motivate me to tumble out of bed, jump in the shower, and take that morning train to bust my ass to make great things happen every.

Oh L'amour! How Will I Know? Basically, I Wanna Dance With Numbers

A great man once said that creating a pop song that makes people happy is one of the hardest things to do.

It is quite simple to tap into negative energy and create the kind of songs and pictures that make you cry.

There is a sadness in this world, for we are ignorant of many things. Yes, we are ignorant of many beautiful things - things like the truth. So sadness, in our ignorance, is very real. Tears are real. What is this thing called a tear? There are even tiny ducts - tear ducts - to produce these tears should the sadness occur. Then the day when the sadness comes - then we ask: "Will this sadness which makes me cry - will this sadness that makes my heart cry out - will it ever end?" The answer, of course, is yes. One day the sadness will end.

Yesterday a friend suggested I listen to "Oh L'amour" on a rainy NYC day. That, and "How Will I Know" are two pop songs that have brought me happiness at different stages of my life.

Patrick Bateman: Did you know that Whitney Houston's debut LP, called simply Whitney Houston had 4 number one singles on it? Did you know that, Christie?

Elizabeth: [laughing] You actually listen to Whitney Houston? You own a Whitney Houston CD? More than one?

Patrick Bateman: It's hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves. Since, Elizabeth, it's impossible in this world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message, crucial really. And it's beautifully stated on the album.

"How Will I Know" is the third hit single from Whitney Houston's self-titled first album. The single was released in November 1985 and was written by George Merrill and Shannon Rubicam of Boy Meets Girl fame, who wrote it for Janet Jackson[1]. The song is an electric dance tune about the singer wondering if a guy she likes feels the same way about her.

On the US Billboard Hot 100 singles survey, "How Will I Know" rose from #60 to #50 the week of December 14, 1985, reaching the #1 spot by February 15, 1986, and becoming Houston's second number-one single. The single displaced "That's What Friends Are For" by Dionne Warwick, thus becoming only the third time (and first by female artists) in history for relatives to replace themselves at number one. It remained at number one for two weeks, and spent fifteen weeks in the top forty.

The music video for "How Will I Know" was directed by Brian Grant and is set against a fantasy, vividly colored background, with dancers in black outfits and wearing French-style makeup. The video is recognized for the animated paint dripping down the screen. In the video, when Houston sings "I'm asking you 'cause you know about these things", there's a brief screencap of singer, close family friend, and Godmother Aretha Franklin.

There's a boy I know
he's the one I dream of.
Looks into my eyes
takes me to the clouds above.
Oh
I lose control
can't seem to get enough.
When I wake from dreamin'
tell me
is it really love?

How will I know? Cirl
trust your feelings -
How will I know?
How will I know? Love can be deceivin' -
How will I know?

How will I know if he really loves me?
I say a prayer with every heartbeat.
I fall in love whenever we meet.
I'm asking you
'cause you know about these things.
How will I know if he's thinking of me?
I try to phone
but I'm too shy - can't speak.
Falling in love is so bitter sweet.
This love is strong
why do I feel weak?

Oh
wake me
I'm shakin'; wish I had you near me now.
Said there's no mistakin'
what I feel is really love.

Oh
tell me: how will I know? Girl
trust your feelings - . . .
How will I know if he really loves me? . . .

If he loves me - if he loves me not -
if he loves me - if he loves me not -
How will I know? - How will I know? -
How will I know? - How will I know

How will I know if he really loves me? . . .
How will I know? How will I know? How will I know?
How will I know? - I say a prayer - how will I know?
How will I know? - I fall in love - how will I know?
How will I know? - I'm asking you - how will I know?

"Oh L'amour" is a song by British synth pop duo Erasure,c onsisting of songwriter and keyboardist Vince Clarke and singer Andy Bell, released in April 1986 as their third single. Written by Erasure members Vince Clarke and Andy Bell, "Oh L'amour" is a lament from someone experiencing unrequited love ("broke my heart / now I'm aching for you"). The song is an uptempo synth pop dance track.

Oh l'amour
Broke my heart
Now I'm aching for you
Mon amour
Whats a boy in love
Supposed to do

Looking for you
You were looking for me
Always reaching for you
You were too blind to see
Oh love of my heart
Why leave me alone
I'm falling apart
No good on my own

Oh lamour
Broke my heart
Now I'm aching for you
Mon amour
Whats a boy in love
Supposed to do

Why throw it away
Why walk out on me
I just live for the day
For the way it should be
There once was a time
Had you here by my side
You said I wasnt your kind
Only here for the ride

Oh l'amour
Broke my heart
Now I'm aching for you
Mon amour
Whats a boy in love
Supposed to do

No emotional ties
You don't remember my name
I lay down and die
I'm only to blame
Oh love of my heart
Its up to you now
You tore me apart
I hurt inside-out

Oh lamour
Broke my heart
Now I'm aching for you
Mon amour
Whats a boy in love
Supposed to do

Oh l'amour
Broke my heart
Now I'm aching for you
Mon amour
Whats a boy in love
Supposed to do

Girls On Top was the pseudonym used by record producer Richard X between 2001 and 2002. As part of the bootleg music craze of the time, Girls On Top had a string of limited edition underground singles released on vinyl only. Richard X used the method of taking the instrumental music track of one pop record and the a cappella version of another pop record and splicing the two together.

"I Wanna Dance With Numbers" is Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)" vs Kraftwerk's "Numbers".

Uh... yeh... woo... hey yeh... huh... hoo yeh... uh huh... yeah...
I want to dance...

Clocks strikes upon the hour,
And the sun begins to fade.
Still enough time to figure out,
How to chase my blues away.
I've done alright up 'til now,
It's the light of day that shows me how,
And when the night falls, loneliness calls.

(Chorus:)
Oh! I wanna dance with somebody.
I wanna feel the heat with somebody.
Yeah! I wanna dance with somebody,
With somebody who loves me. (x2)

I've been in love and lost my senses,
Spinning through the town.
Sooner or later the fever ends,
And I wind up feeling down.
I need a man who'll take a chance,
On a love that burns hot enough to last.
So when the night falls,
My lonely heart calls.

(Chorus x2)

Somebody who... Somebody who... somebody who loves me...
Somebody who... Somebody who... to hold me in his arms...

I need a man who'll take a chance,
On a love that burns hot enough to last.
So when the night falls,
My lonely heart calls.

(Chorus x2)

Ooh ooh! Dance! Come on baby... (laughs)
Dance! Wooo! Yeh! Dance! You dance like this... (laughs)
Woah! (dance!)

Don't you wanna dance? (dance!) with me baby.
Don't you wanna dance? (dance!) with me boy.
Don't you wanna dance? (dance!) with me baby.
With somebody who loves me.

Don't you wanna dance?
Say you wanna dance.
Don't you wanna dance? (dance!)

Don't you wanna dance?
Say you wanna dance.
Don't you wanna dance? (dance!)

Don't you wanna dance?
Say you wanna dance. (uh huh)(dance!)
With somebody who loves me.
Ooh (dance!)
Ooh-oh (dance!)
Ooh (dance!)
...with me baby...

Just what the truth is I can't say anymore

Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Letters I've written,
Never meaning to send.

Beauty I'd always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I cant say anymore.

cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.

Gazing at people,
Some hand in hand,
Just what I'm going thru
They can understand.

Some try to tell me
Thoughts they cannot defend,
Just what you want to be
You will be in the end,

And I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
Oh, how, I love you.

Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Letters I've written,
Never meaning to send.

Beauty I'd always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I cant say anymore.

cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
Oh, how, I love you.

cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
Oh, how, I love you.

Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe was born on this day in 1926.

Marilyn Monroe, photographed by Marilyn Monroe for American Vogue, 1962

From the book The Last Sitting:

"Everybody was working: Kenneth combing Marilyn's hair, Babs arranging a string of pearls around her neck. I was way up there in the dark, looking down on her lying there with her hair spread out.

Marilyn was a little pensive, and I wanted her laughing, alive. So I said, "Could someone turn her on, please?" Babs offered her some champagne.

"No, no," I called down. "She can't move out of that position. Talk to her. Pat, talk to her."

Pat said to Marilyn, "What about those two loves in your life?" Marilyn started to giggle.

I didn't know who Marilyn's lovers were but she obviously enjoyed thinking about them. She was laughing, looking over at Pat, and I said, "That's great! But look up here, at the camera." And to draw her attention to me, I said, "How about those two men..."

She was on, and the strobes were clicking, and the light was bouncing around, tinkling down, Kenneth came over with a handful of sparkle and scattered it in her hair. The pearls were around her neck, and she was laughing, free. And I whispered to myself, "Boy...how far out..." I really had her. The light was just right. Everything began to move a little faster.

It was coming - the moment I was looking for.

A lot of pictures I take are not the real picture. They're the picture before the picture, the picture leading up to the picture --and then I get the picture. I see it through the lens as I'm shooting and I know it's the one. Exactly how I see it depends on the camera. On the Nikon and the Hasselblad you're looking right through the lens, so the shutter goes black when the actual picture is taken. On those cameras I don't see the picture itself. I keep shooting right up to that instant when I feel, I know, it's about to happen. Then I push the button and on that black space I project the picture. The Rolleiflex doesn't do that, because it has a twin lens. But then you don't see the actual picture either, because you're seeing through the upper lens, and the angle's slightly different.

Either way, you never see the picture that you're taking. At that perfect moment you just have to close your eyes and jump. And when that moment comes, it's a zillionth of a second. It will never be repeated again, it could take all eternity to get it back. You have to grab it.

Looking down at Marilyn, I could see it happening. I was entering that space where everything is silent but the clicking of the strobes. She was tossing her head, laughing, and her arm was up, like waving goodbye.

I saw what I wanted, I pressed the button, and she was mine.

It was the last picture."
